The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the District through midnight, forecasting up to 2 inches of wet snow. In addition to yesterday's pre-storm anti-icing operation, The DC Snow Team will be out this evening treating the District's National Highway System, primary, and secondary routes, and residential hot spots. Crews are actively following 311 service requests so residents are urged to call 311 to report slippery roads that require salting.
Motorists should drive cautiously and maintain safe speeds and distances from other vehicles. Be aware of hazardous road conditions, particularly black ice which can be deceptive in appearance and give the driver a false sense of security on the road.
Continue to follow @DCDPW and snow.dc.gov. for ongoing updates and information.
