DC SNOW TEAM TO DEPLOY TUE., JAN. 21 FOR POSSIBLE 3-6 INCHES OF SNOW

(Washington, DC)  The DC Snow Team (Departments of Public Works and Transportation) will have more than 200 plows on District streets by 8 am.  Snow is expected to fall during the morning rush hour and continue through Tuesday night.  The high Tuesday is 36F and the low 12F. The snow is expected to end around 9-11PM Tuesday.

DC SNOW TEAM TO DEPLOY THUR., JAN. 2 FOR 2014’S FIRST SNOW EVENT

(Washington, DC) The DC Snow Team (Department of Public Works and Department of Transportation) will deploy more than 200 plows Thursday, January 2, at 5 pm to be on site in advance of this year’s first snow event.  The team will apply salt to major roadways as well as residential streets simultaneously.  The event will start as rain this afternoon then mix with snow around 5-7 pm.  Precipitation will change to all snow after 8 pm.

DC SNOW TEAM TO DEPLOY SAT., DEC. 14 FOR UPCOMING SNOW STORM

(Washington, DC) For the third time this week, the DC Snow Team (Department of Public Works and Department of Transportation) will deploy more than 200 plows to commercial and residential streets Saturday morning, December 14 for a winter storm.  The latest weather forecast calls for light snow with some sleet possible between 7 am-9 am Saturday.  The temperature will be around 32F and rise through the morning.  Maybe ½- 1 inch of snow is possible, creating slushy roads up until noon.  As temperatures rise through the afternoon, snow will change to rain. 

DC SNOW TEAM TO DEPLOY TUE., DEC. 10 FOR UPCOMING SNOW STORM

(Washington, DC) The DC Snow Team (Department of Public Works and Department of Transportation) will deploy more than 200 plows to commercial and residential streets Tuesday morning, December 10 to be on site in advance of the upcoming winter storm predicted to start with sleet, then change to snow and drop 2-5 inches before ending in the late afternoon.  The daytime temperature will be 36F and will fall to 27F at night. Any snow, slush, or melting from the snow event will freeze overnight Tuesday.  Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 36F and a low of 19F.

DC Snow Team to Deploy Sun., Dec. 8 for Predicted Wintry Mix

(Washington, DC) The DC Snow Team (Department of Public Works and Department of Transportation) will deploy more than 200 plows to commercial and residential streets Sunday morning, December 8 to be on site in advance of the upcoming wintry mix of freezing rain and snow.  Meteorologists predict the storm will move in Sunday morning, starting as snow and maybe accumulating about 1-2 inches.  Snow is expected to change to freezing rain/sleet for most of Sunday afternoon into the evening.
